The Brew House Café at Kenwood House

A dog-friendly restaurant in Hampstead.

Walking across Hampstead Heath to Kenwood House is one of our favourite Sunday expeditions. Whether it’s to eat ice cream on a summer’s day or drink hot chocolate to warm up in the depths of winter, it’s always good to have a food-related destination to give your walk a purpose.

Kenwood House is owned by English Heritage and is set in idyllic grounds designed by Humphrey Repton. It’s a great place to hang out to forget you live in the middle of a big city and it’s really quite astounding that this exists inside the North Circular.

The cafe at Kenwood House wouldn’t normally meet our dog-friendly criteria as they don't allow dogs inside, but being as the terrace is so pretty and you are already dressed for whatever the weather is doing anyway, we’ve made an exception. We love their scones and ice cream the best.
