Conker London: London Bridge to Limehouse Walk
CONKER LONDON: FEBRUARY
LONDON BRIDGE TO LIMEHOUSE
Conker London is a series of 12 free London walks, one for each month of the year. These seasonal walks are designed to help you get to know your city a little better. The walks weave through the prettier, quieter and more interesting streets, far away from the busy main thoroughfares. The walks are hand drawn and come with full instructions.
FEBRUARY: LONDON BRIDGE TO LIMEHOUSE
February's walk is a meandering river stroll along the Pool of London. World famous landmarks give way to cobbled streets lined with beautiful wharves, steep flights of steps leading down to shingled river beaches and ancient pubs dating from a time when London was the epicentre of maritime trade. Ghoulish stories of executions, pirates, and smugglers gives this walk a haunting feel and you can feel the history oozing out of ever brick.
The walk begins at London Bridge and crosses over the magnificent Tower Bridge. From here the walk leads away from the crowds to this quiet, gentle part of London.
The walk is great for a weekend daytime where you can duck into any of the wonderful old pubs to warm up with a roast dinner along the way.
