BLEAK HOUSE EXPERIENCES 2019
A MAGICAL WELSH ADVENTURE
30TH APRIL to 3RD MAY 2019 / THE GROVE, NARBETH
AN ENCHANTING TRIP TO DISCOVER THE BEAUTY OF WALES
Immerse yourself in the enchantment and beauty of Wales. Learn the language, learn to sing, walk barefoot along the jaw-droppingly beautiful beaches, gorge on delicious local food and relax in one of Britain’s most stylish hotels.
AN IMMERSIVE, ALL-INCLUSIVE ADVENTURE
Four unforgettable days in the company of like-minded people in the utterly beautiful surroundings of The Grove of Narbeth hotel, Pembrokeshire. This immersive and enchanting experience has been carefully designed to help you discover some of the wonders of this often overlooked part of Britain and to give you the time, space and creative stimulation to return home refreshed and inspired, having made new friends and special memories.
In early May the grounds of The Grove are carpeted with spring flowers and the cherry trees are fat with blossom. The gorgeous walled garden is packed to the rafters with riotous blooms and the grass is green and verdant. The croquet lawn sits quietly waiting for someone to notice it and the comfortable sofas in the cosy lounges are hard to resist
Along the coastline the sea is azure and the sand is golden and soft. The sheltered dunes invite lazy picnics on Welsh woollen blankets and the undulating coastal paths build up the desire for a paddle or even a dip in the clear waters of the Irish Sea.
Our days in Pembrokeshire will be an enriching mix of creative workshops, beach and coastal path wanders, ambles through beautiful gardens, atmospheric lunches, cosy dinners as well as plenty of time to relax and enjoy the surroundings of the hotel.
”Oh my gosh, I've been telling all my friends about the first Bleak House Experience, and if you're on the fence at all you need to jump off and just do it!! We spent the most lovely week exploring this sweetest spot of the UK under Annabel's expert guidance. As the only American, I couldn't have felt more welcomed or more satisfied with such a beautifully British experience.” - Lauren Keim, Photographer, Virginia, USA

There are just twelve places available and early booking is essential.
”I’ve not stopped thinking about my first Bleak House Experience since I got back! It was just what I needed to relax and recharge after a hectic year. I was nervous to be sharing a room and house with 5 women I didn't know, but it was amazing how quickly we all bonded and I feel I've made some lifelong friends. Sharing the fabulous views and adventures with like minded women is something I'll cherish forever. Thank you Annabel for a wonderful week, can't wait for the next one!” - Kelly Sparkes, Wordpress mentor, Hertfordshire
”I met new friends, found inspiration and learnt new skills in only 4 days. I encourage all my friends to take some time off their very busy schedule to enjoy being cared for and being more present”. - Nat Aubry, Freelance Content Creator, Hertfordshire

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
Your transport to Narbeth. You can arrive by car or, if you prefer, by train to Narbeth where we will meet a specified train from London Paddington (to be confirmed in the New Year). Narbeth is four hours from London Paddington, with a change at Swansea. We advise booking 12 weeks ahead to get the best prices for train travel. If you cannot make the specified train, you can catch a taxi from Narbeth which is just a couple of miles from the hotel.
Additional drinks and food outside of those provided at mealtimes. It is unlikely that you will need these as we will be eating heartily.
Making decisions this experience is designed to give you a break from making decisions and having to do the endless and exhausting research that holidays often entail. You can relax, knowing everything we have chosen is of the highest quality and chosen with style, beauty and enjoyment in mind.
Crowds, noise, bustle and stress. Pembrokeshire is quiet, relaxing and serene.
''The effects of being away from London, work, and everything else really surprised me. Having no decisions to make, other than whether you want to go for a walk or read a book by fire, really puts everything in perspective, and meeting new people gives you new perspectives. I came back to London with so much energy and clarity. - Jenna Riffell, Strategy Consultant, London
We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the beautiful Grove at Narbeth hotel for this very special experience.
This lovingly restored 18th century farmhouse is set in sweeping grounds of bright green grass, cherry blossom trees and an enchanting walled kitchen garden and cut flower garden. Inside, the series of comfortable, cosy lounges and elegant dining rooms are sumptuously and luxuriously decorated and invite you rest awhile. The food is local (some of which comes from the kitchen garden) and is utterly delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming and you won’t ever want to leave.
The hotel is undeniably and wonderfully Welsh, from the woollen blankets on the beds to the wallpaper in the dining room made from real fern fronds and the beautiful wicker wall in the Artisan dining room. It’s the perfect mix of style and heritage, a place where the interior design is second to none, but where you feel welcome to curl up on the sofa with a book and a cup of tea.
”It was WONDERFUL. Balm for the over-busy soul. And for once I didn't have to organise anyone or anything and everything that was subtly organised was 'top notch'. If you're hesitating, go for it - you won't regret it. ENJOY.” - Bernadette Skehan, Accountant, London
